Winter came early!

So I was standing around staring at myself in the mirror, as you tend to do when you're never quite satisfied with your face, when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. At first I thought I was probably just having a stroke, but no! It was SNOW!! Snow falling down on Bluebonnet earlier than expected! I had to run outside to see!

Hey It's snowing!

Then I ran back inside because I was really cold.

I didn't realize winter was coming early, but sure enough, there was a rumble outside and the Grand Bluebonnet Mountains came out of the depths of the sea. They only come when winter is here to stay, and in the spring they go sinking back down into the abyss of the ocean. Funny how that works, huh? Then the pond froze over and I threw on a coat and skates and went to play!

Skating time!

Aldwyn, Ulaa, and I are going to be throwing a winter party soon, so we took advantage of our time together and started setting up the Lima Heights Winter Park. I am in love with the place!!! It's not completely finished yet, but so far we have trees [lots of trees thanks to Ulaa and Caelan!] and benches and in the gazebo we have some couches to rest on and space for dancing and in the corner there is a gingerbread house and SANTA!!! I just love love love it!

Winter Park

[Yeah, I got overly excited and took the picture without waiting to see if the house would even show up in it. My draw distance was low.]

Near the rink, there are some benches in case you get tired, and a stand with hot chocolate. Plus, if you don't have skates, we have some free ones! BUT - you have to be in a mesh enabled viewer to use them. I grabbed the first ones I saw that looked good and I thought they were sculpted, but they're mesh. Sorry about that! [Okay, not really sorry. I want everyone to use mesh. LOL]

I just can't wait to get home tonight to play more in the park!

All the lights!

One good thing about Aldwyn is that he is very easy going in the decorating department. Pretty much anything I want to put in the house, he's all for it. Well, let's face it. Between the two of us, I AM the better decorator! [And the one with enough furniture to fully decorate a dozen houses.]

But I don't know if he is truly ready for the full force of my Christmas decorating. He came home tonight to find me putting up the Christmas lights outside.

He let me put up the lights

I don't really think it's that much. In fact, I think we need more.

Got started tonight preparing the spot that will have the ice skating rink and little winter park. In my head, I KIND of know what I want, but of course putting it together is going to be the hard part. I think once it snows, it will be easier to get things done.

Of course, I think we'll need much more lights. Much. More. Lights.

Loading up on Christmas prims

I love decorating for Christmas in SL. It's soooo much easier than doing it in RL, don't you agree? In RL, my tree is in a box still sitting in the corner. We can't have a real tree because I have stupid allergies, so it's always the fake tree. But ugh, that's such a pain to put up, you know? All the little branches, all the trying to get the "needles" fluffed up. It's pretty tedious. And THEN I still have to decorate it!!!

No, it's much much easier to decorate in SL and if I'm not careful, I'm going to use all the prims inside the house and have nothing left for the ice skating rink and winter park I'm going to put up on the other side of the parcel. I need to find lower prim Christmas decorations! I mean, everything I put just IN the fireplace probably comes to over 100 prims.

Starting to decorate

But it's pretty, so... yeah.

I need to find something for the top of the fireplace. I think I might have to get some stuff and rip it apart and smash it together to get the look I want. But I've been doing that with other stuff, so it doesn't matter.

Snow is in the forecast for Bluebonnet this week. Good thing we've been stocking up on sweaters!!

Al went to bed and I'm itching to go back to playing Dragon Age [yes, again, for the 50th time. But I'm playing DA: Awakening this time because I've never finished it.] so I think it's time to wrap this up, shut off all my IM things, and get into the game before I need to get in bed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay, so MAYBE there was a little more to the coffee I had yesterday than I let on... MAYBE. But can you possibly blame me? It's hard work getting your first Thanksgiving meal as a wife put together! Luckily, Aldwyn prefers prime rib because y'all don't even want to know how that turkey came out.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for much in my SLife these days! I just feel like almost everything I've ever wanted in SL has happened, and it makes me eager to see what the future holds. It can only get better, right??

But let me just say that I am, as always, thankful to each of you who stop by to read my blog. Whether this is your first visit here, or you've been with me for years, it means so very much to me that you come by to read what I have to say, even if it's a lot of nothing. :)

Now...it's time to start getting ready for winter!

Thanksgiving Eve

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Well, at least if you're in the US. Since this is our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife, I figured that I better start getting prepared! Which is good, since we didn't seem to have much in the fridge to make a meal out of.

TG - We needed more food

Going out to the grocery store on Thanksgiving Eve is pretty ... brave. Ooh, you should have seen it! It was like the battle at Hogwarts, or in Lord of the Rings. Crazy! But I managed to get what I needed and I only possibly kicked 3 women. Possibly.

TG - Bought Groceries

Before I could get started, I figured I better have a coffee. Tymmerie gave us a great coffee maker for our wedding and it makes all kinds of coffee very quickly! I love it!

TG - Coffee Number One

Mmmm...caffeiney goodness.

Right away I got started on the stuffing. I've never had turkey that had been stuffed, actually. My mom makes a fabulous cornbread dressing as a side, though! She's not cooking this year but I ... Damn. Is that stuffing on my shoe??

TG - Stuffing on my shoe

Maybe I should have another coffee. Cappucino this time!

TG - Coffee Number Two

Hehehe...stuffing.

Oh.

Things are getting a little shaky. I don't think this will be the right time to handle the can opener for our canned veggies. I would have gotten more fresh veggies but some big bitch in thigh high boots and a blinging clit ring almost knocked me down when I was reaching for some carrots!

TG - Cans are hard

That's okay. Canned corn is a decent substitution for fresh corn.

Let's have another coffee!! That'll make me forget about the carrot tramp!

TG - Coffee Number Three

Come to think of it, what DID she want with those carrots?

What did she want what did she want whatdidshewant?!?!?

Geez, is it getting hot in here to you guys?

TG - Thawing Turkey

Look at my turkey in the sink! SINK TURKEY! It's thawing! THAWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

LET'S HAVE MORE COFFEE! THANK YOU, TYMMERIE!!!!

TG - Coffee Number Four

THETURKEYHASSKIN! STUFF IT TURKEY! STUFF IT WITH ALL THE THINGS!

TG - Look at that turkey!

LO&@AMF)O(LISDJFJ((#($*LJFlk20938 ~!!!! 111 #lkjfa.......

TG - I think it's in the oven

Big Pimpin'

What a very fun night!

Not that we did anything super amazing. We didn't even leave the living room, actually. But let me back up a bit.

Hi! Are you a single guy in SL? Do you have a decent looking avatar? Do you know how to hold a conversation in chat and/or voice? Are you looking for more than someone to just hop on a sexytimes poseball with? Are you nice but you enjoy a bit of snark sometimes? Do you NOT have a vagina in the real world? Are you not a whiny bitch submissive? Well, then have I got the girl for you!

I'm pimping my former wife out for a holidays boyfriend! She's hot, right?

Ulaa Morph 2

LMFAO! Okay okay, the morph is a joke. I promise she's not running around thinking morphs are perfectly acceptable. If you think morphs are fine, then you are not the right guy!!

Ulaa is actually super pretty. See?

Ulaa's actual face

Anyway, I'm looking for a holidays man for her! She's super funny, she's a much better conversationalist than I am, she builds great houses, and she won't be all greedy grabby expecting you to fund her entire SLife. PLUS you get to hang out with Al and me, too! It's like getting instant friends!

I'd say she would hit me for this, but I already plurked it. So you know. No surprises! :-p

She'd come over tonight so I could grab a few face shots to do that morph with. We invited Pumpkin to come hang out with us, too, since she told me she was out in the snow with no shoes and that's just NOT a place a Latina should be! This is the first time we've hung out in a couple of years since we only recently started chatting again. It was the first time we'd ever really had people in the house, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it! I spend so much time in SL by myself when Al is out working and Ulaa is up on her platform building, I forget how to be social. But we had a great time talking, laughing, and doing the crazy drunk dance.

We get nuts at home!

It's time for bed for me now. :)

The Wife Thing

So now that things in my life have finally settled down a bit, it's time to go back to doing the wife thing. Although I know Aldwyn is capable of it, I like to be sure to take care of things like laundry. I mean, you guys just don't know how much clothing we go through in a week! Well, okay. How much clothing I go through in a week. I keep trying to keep to a budget since the economy is not that great, as we all well know, and not just run out and buy new clothes every time something gets dirty. But isn't it REALLY better for the economy if I just shop???

Laundry

While things were washing, I figured I better clean the kitchen up some, too. Since I was trying to do something to the backyard, I ended up tracking in a lot of dirt as I ran back and forth. I'd hate for Al to get home and see all the dirt and hit me.

Mopping

I was going to do more cleaning after I finished up with the kitchen, but....

Napping

What? It's a big kitchen.

After my nap, it was time to do more laundry. Like I said, we go through a LOT of laundry around here. [I blame Aldwyn for not leaving me his wallet so I could just go buy new things. But for some reason he likes to go shopping with me. I think it's so he makes sure I don't buy anything ugly that will cause him to hit me.] The problem with laundry day is that then I have to find SOMETHING to put on. So usually, I just end up like this.

So obviously laundry day

Gogo said I should blog the look. I think it's part of her evil plan to make sure everyone looks worse than her.

I hear my dryer buzzing and so I guess I should go. Al should be home soon and I'll need to be wearing something nice or he might hit me.

If only moving was always this easy!

Most people don't know it about me, but I really am a vintage freak. I love antiques and old old movies and old fashions. I also really love the tacky side of it all, like home decor from the late 60s-early 80s. Yeah, I can do the classy, pretty, shabby chic thing and that really is my preferred style, but the old old stuff like we had when I was a little little girl...well, I love it! And with all the vintage and retro goodness lately, I've been in hog heaven.

Before I left for my week of helping to take care of my dad, Ulaa had started working on a different kind of house than the ones she normally builds. Her style is very much my style, which is why I always seem to have the country/coastal/shabby chic style of homes. But when she said she wanted to build a more retro style home, I was SOOOO down for it. I got to see pics she posted on plurk while I was using my phone and I couldn't wait to get home so I could get the new house! And I knew Aldwyn wouldn't mind, being that he's used to me changing houses almost every time Ulaa makes a new one, and because he's old.

I'll wait here for him to come hit me.

So yesterday evening when I got home, I pulled up everything and plopped down our new house. It makes me so happy!! It's all retro goodness and fabulous and I love it! I started decorating a little bit last night but got too tired to finish. Then today Ulaa came over while I was out at the Vintage Fair and she said she'd fix the kitchen for me kind of like she had it in the vendor ads she did. I'm always happy for someone else to do the dirty work for me, so I sat around thinking of other stuff while she worked.

Hmmmm

She did a GREAT job and I'm totally happy! Plus she re-papered the walls in "my" kitchen wallpaper we'd had in the Odette house. The wallpaper makes me ridiculously happy because it reminds me a little of the paper we had in the kitchen back when I was 6 or 7.

I worked a bit more before Al got home. I think the living room is just about finished, except I need to pull out some knick knacks. And can I just say I'm terribly disappointed that I can't find any macrame owls for the walls?

The living room is just about done

The bathroom got started on today, but not finished. Our bedroom needs to be done, and so does the guest room. Yes, I like to have a guest room. You never know when someone needs to stay over! Then I'll work on the landscaping. Or make Al do it, like I was making him work on the backyard. What? He's the man. He should take care of the yard!

By the way, if you want to get Ulaa's house, you can get it over at the Vintage Fair. Remember that it JUST started today, so it's pretty laggy for the moment, but oh my god, it's SO worth going to. You wouldn't believe the things creators have put out. Really fabulous work! Ooh! And I'm going to be DJing out there on Sunday from 7pm-9pm SLT! It's going to be a sock hop! Fun times!

A game to play!

I've been a premium member in SL since 2008. Most people would say it's worthless, but I've never really thought so. I like my little stipend, my Linden house has come in handy on occasion, and on the rare times I've needed support, my tickets have been answered super fast. When they came out with the premium sandboxes and the free furniture for premium members, that was even better! And now there's a little game in the works for the premiums! I think it's pretty much in the alpha stages right now, but it's kind of fun!

In the game

You're fitted with a HUD when you go in, and then it tells you what to do. Basically all I did was run around collecting crystals and trying to avoid rock monsters.

Oh yes. Rock monsters.

Rock monster!

You have to RUN from the rock monsters! If the rock monsters kick you around too much, you get sent back to a "safe" point. Same if you fall in the toxic water or get hit with fireballs! And if you detach your HUD during the game, you get sent home. But you don't lose any of your crystals because when you come back, your HUD reattaches itself.

Now I don't want for ALL of SL to be like a game. I really don't. I like the way it is - a community of people, a place to shop, a place to be creative and loud when you want to be and quiet when you want to be. But I DO like the idea of little fun game places to go into in SL. When I was a teen, I used to like to go play laser tag and it was really fun to run around, getting immersed in the game. This kind of feels like that to me. A game to play in my world where I can be immersed in it for a little bit and then teleport back home easily.

Now if I can just find more blue and green crystals....

Edit: I forgot to put a SLurl & Hamlet yelled at me. Go right here if you're a premium account. If it lands you up top where the gift is, follow the green beam down and walk through the crystal looking portal thing. Then your adventure begins!!
